About

Alyona Troitskaya (b. 1982, Novosibirsk, Russia) is an artist whose projects emerge from close observation of places, objects, and materials.
With a background in architecture, Troitskaya approaches material not as a neutral medium but as something that carries its own history, physical presence, and visual language. Her works develop through the relationship between place, material, and the body, creating situations in which time becomes tangible through matter.
Working across sculpture, installation, painting, photography, video, and printmaking, she is drawn to materials that continue to change over time. Rather than preserving the past, her works follow the ongoing transformation of places, objects, and memories after their original forms, functions, or contexts have disappeared. In a world where narratives, ideologies, and personal memories remain unstable, material becomes a point of reference — something that can still be trusted to bear witness to change.

Graduated from the Moscow Architectural Institute in 2010; completed the Free Workshops program at the Moscow Museum of Modern Art in 2021; and graduated from the Joseph Bakshtein Institute of Contemporary Art in 2025.
Her solo and group exhibitions have been held in Russia, Greece, the United Kingdom, and Cyprus.
In 2024, the Moscow Museum of Modern Art presented her solo exhibition “Between the Seams of Time.” Group and solo exhibitions at the Narkomfin House (2026), the Zotov Center (2026), the New Tretyakov Gallery (2021), the Moscow Museum of Modern Art (2021, 2022, 2024, 2026), the Winzavod Center for Contemporary Art (2026), the Museum of Moscow (2021), the Fabrika Center for Contemporary Art (2024, 2026), the Ulm Gallery (2025, 2026), the Pafos Underground Gallery (2025), and others. She participated in the Ural Industrial Biennale (2021) and the 4th Artmosfera Street Art Biennale (2023).
She participated in the Collab program at the Vaults Art Production Center of the GES-2 House of Culture (2023) and the Vinzavod Open Studios (2026). She was nominated for the Art de vivre Award (2026).
